About us - History

Born in Kingston upon Thames, Debbie was brought up in a musical environment; her father Bob Fox was lead vocalist with 'The Solitaires', a very popular London-based dance band in the 1960's and 1970's. She would listen to her father's records from a very early age and enjoyed artistes such as Nat King Cole, Sinatra and Sarah Vaughan.

Her brother Robert Fox-Little, currently lead singer and guitarist with rock'n'roll band Red Hot Roosters, first got Debbie up on stage at the age of fifteen at the Lyceum in front of a huge audience. She caught the bug and was soon writing and performing her own original material. Debbie has since worked as a session singer as well as with a number of cover bands, touring across Europe and the Middle East. Her last band prior to FOXY was a six-piece jazz, soul & funk band called Little Fox.

Debbie was lead vocalist on the classic "Party for the World" album released on Telstar Records. The CD features DJ Steve Walsh of Radio London's "Soul Night Out" fame and contains 42 classic dance tracks.

Debbie's soulful voice and huge stage charisma have won over many an audience as well as earning the respect of the professional musicians who have worked with her. In 2002 she formed the FOXY duo together with her husband Nick.
